Rapport Extension Overview:

 
 
The Rapport browser extension is a component which completes Rapport’s functionality and provides you with full protection while browsing.
In other words, Rapport functions on Firefox only if its extension is installed and enabled.
If the extension is not installed, or if it is installed but disabled, the browser will not be protected by Rapport.
 
 
 
Activiating Rapport's Extension:
 
1. The first time you open Firefox after installing Rapport, a yellow box, with an exclamation mark in it, will appear at the top right side of your screen, covering a small part of the menu icon.
2. Click on the Firefox menu icon. The Fireox menu will open.
3. An 'IBM Security Rapport added to Firefox' notification appears on screen. Click on it.
4. The extension tab opens and a notification pop-up appears.
5. Click on 'Enable'.
6. With all steps completed, the extension now appears within the extensions list.
 
 
 
The icon's appearance at the right side of the address bar confirms that the Rapport extension was added successfully.
Please note that the yellow box indicator will only appear the first time you open the browser.
If you close your browser without enabling the extension, the indicator will not appear again.
It also means that the Rapport icon will not show.
 
 
 
For assistance in cases where the icon does not appear in the address bar, please view the 'No Icon' video under the 'I cannot see the Rapport Icon' title".
 

Verifying protection:

The Rapport icon has two states:
 
Grey - the website you are browsing is not protected by Rapport.
Green - the website you are browsing is being protected by Rapport.

I cannot see the Rapport icon:


 If the Rapport icon is not visible in the browser’s address bar, please verify that the extension is enabled by following the instructions below:
 
1. Click on the Firefox menu icon, located at the top right part of your screen.
2. Choose 'Add-ons'. This will open the add-ons manager.
3. Verify you are on the 'Extension' tab, as seen at the top left part of the browser.
4. Locate the 'IBM Security Rapport' extension in the list.
5. Check the 'Enable' box, located to the right of the extension.

Once checked, the Rapport icon will appear at the right corner of the address bar.

               

If you are unable to find the IBM Security Rapport extension at all in Firefox's extension list, you will need to install it from the Firefox extension folder:
 

1. From within Firefox's 'add-ons' manager, click on the 'gear' icon, located at the top right part of the screen, next to the 'Search all add-ons' search bar.
2. Choose 'Install Add-on from file'. A file selection window opens.
3. Click on 'Local Disk (C:)' at the right side of the window.
4. Choose 'Users'.
5. Click on the folder which contains your account name.
6. Click on 'AppData'. please skip to 'I can't see the AppData folder' section, follow the steps specified there and then go back to step #8 in this list.
7. Click on 'Roaming' --> 'Mozilla' --> 'Extensions'.
8. In the 'Extensions' folder, open the following folder: {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}
9. Click once on the 'rapportext@trusteer.com.xpi' file to highlight it, then click on 'Open'.
10. Once opened, a pop-up window will appear, asking you whether you would like to add 'IBM Security Rapport' as an add-on.
11. Click on the 'Add' button and 'OK' on the confirmation message.
12. Once the Rapport icon appears, it means that the extension was successfully added.



I can't see the AppData folder:
 
If you cannot see the 'AppData' folder inside the user folder, it means that it is set to hidden.
 
To access the folder, click on the path bar which appears at the seach bar of the window, it should currently show 'Local Disk (C:) --> Users --> [Your account name]'.
 
Please make sure to click to the right of your account name.
 
Click once more to bring the cursor to the end of the line, then type '\AppData' and click 'Enter'.
 
Now you are viewing the content of the 'AppData' folder.
 
Please go back to the instructions above and continue from step 8.

The Rapport icon does not turn green on protected sites:

 

If the Rapport icon does not turn from grey to green while browsing to protected sites, such as your bank or Trusteer support's website, it is possible that Rapport is not running on your computer.
 
In case it is not running, you are not protected.
 
Please verify that Rapport is running on your computer:

               

Windows 7
 
1. Click on the ‘start’ button located at the bottom left side of your screen.
2. Click on ‘All programs’.
3. Scroll down until you locate the ‘Trusteer Endpoint Protection’ folder.
4. Click on the folder to open it, then click on ‘Trusteer Endpoint Protection Console'.



Windows 8/10
 
1. Click on the 'Windows' key and the letter ‘S’, at the same time, to open the search bar.
2. Type ‘Trusteer’ into the search bar.
3. Click on ‘Trusteer Endpoint Protection Console’ to open the Rapport console.



If a pop-up message, reporting that ‘Rapport is not running’, appears, it means that Rapport is currently stopped.
 
To restart it, click on the ‘Yes’ button in the pop-up.
 
Once Rapport is restarted, please close the browser and reopen it.
 
Once the browser is restarted, navigate to a protected site and check if the icon is green.
 
If the console appears without displaying any messages, then Rapport is already running.
