How to enable browser extension and verify that it is working 

The Rapport browser extension is a component which completes Rapport’s functionality and provides you with full protection while browsing.
In other words, Rapport functions on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Chromium Based Edge only if its extension is installed and enabled.

If the extension is not installed, or if it is installed but disabled, the browser will not be protected by Rapport.

How to enable Rapport’s Google Chrome extension:

The extension will be automatically installed starting Rapport version 3.5.1930.424
  1. To see the Rapport icon in the Google Chrome address bar, click Enable extension in the message that appears in your browser.

  • If Chrome is already running, restart the browser.
  • If you still do not see the message, click the orange Chrome menu on the browser tool bar.

  1. Click New extension added (IBM Security Rapport).

  • The Enable extension message appears.

  1. Click Enable extension.

How to install the extension from the Rapport console:

  1. Open the IBM Security Trusteer Rapport Console by clicking Start > All Programs > Trusteer Endpoint Protection > Trusteer Endpoint Protection Console.
  2. In the Product Settings area, next to Chrome extension, click Install.

Note: If Google Chrome is not set as your default browser, the link will open in whichever browser is set as default. Copy the URL from the address bar and paste it into a Chrome browser to continue.

  1. You will be directed to the Google Chrome web store; Click "+ Add to Chrome" to add the extension to your browser.

Verifying protection:

The Rapport icon has two states:

Grey - the website you are browsing is not protected by Rapport.

Green – the website you are browsing is being protected by Rapport.

I cannot see the Rapport icon:

If the Rapport icon is not visible in the browser’s address bar, please verify that the extension is enabled by following the instructions below:

  1. Click on the Google Chrome menu icon, located at the top right part of your browser.
  2. Place your mouse over ‘More tools’ and choose ‘Extensions’. The extension list will open.
  3. Locate ‘IBM Security Rapport’ in the extension list and verify that it is enabled

The indication that the extension is enabled is the color of the toggle.
If it is blue, the extension is enabled.
If the toggle is grey, the extension is disabled.
To enable the extension, click on the toggle. It will turn blue.

Once enabled, the Rapport icon will appear at the right corner of the address bar.
 

How to enable Rapport’s Firefox extension:

The extension will be automatically installed starting Rapport version 3.5.1930.424

Step 1: After completing the installation you will receive a pop-up prompting you to enable the Firefox Extension.

Step 2: Click OK. If Firefox was not opened, clicking 'OK' will open a new window, then follow the procedure below.
  • If the message was not presented, the extension can be enabled at any time with the following procedure.
  1. Open Firefox.
     
  2. Click the menu button and select IBM Security Rapport added to Firefox.

  3. A new pop-up will appear with additional information.

  4. Click Enable.
The Rapport Firefox extension is now enabled.

Please note the icon will not appear in the 'Add-ons Manager', it will only appear when you navigate to a website.

Verifying protection:

The Rapport icon has two states:

I cannot see the Rapport icon:

  2. Click on ‘Add-ons’ and choose ‘Extensions’ from the left Menu.
  3. Locate ‘IBM Security Rapport’ in the extension list and verify that it is enabled
 

How to enable Rapport’s Microsoft Chromium based Edge extension

* Rapport must be installed before you can install and use the Rapport's Microsoft Edge extension.

1. Once Rapport is installed the new Edge extension will be added to the extension section in the browser. 
2. The user will get a prompt (in some cases, it may appear quickly and disappear, in some cases it may not appear at all). 
3. Once the user selects the option to enable the extension, the prompt below will appear.

4. Once the user enables the extension, the Rapport icon will appear in the address bar.

6. Once the extension is enabled the icon will indicate on protected sites as green, and unprotected sites as grey.

7. The user can manually protect sites, by clicking on the icon in the address bar and in the RTM screen, click “Protect site”

The icon will turn green and the site will be added to the trusted websites in Rapport’s console.

8. In the RTM screen the user can also access Rapport’s console by pressing on the “Settings” button.

Users can also install the extension from the Trusteer Console – (the default browser has to be new Edge) or they can copy the store’s URL from the default browser to the new edge address bar.

How to install the extension from the Rapport console:

  1. Open the IBM Security Trusteer Rapport Console by clicking Start > All Programs > Trusteer Endpoint Protection > Trusteer Endpoint Protection Console.
  2. In the Product Settings area, next to New Edge extension, click Install.

Note: If Microsoft Edge is not set as your default browser, the link will open in whichever browser is set as default. Copy the URL from the address bar and paste it into a Chromium browser to continue.

9. The installation process from the store: 
The user will be redirected to the location of the extension and press “Get”

10. The user will be prompted to approve adding the extension.
